Welcome!

On behalf of my husband, Tom, and the Elders who stand strong behind us, I would like to welcome you to the Pacific Wisdom Rising blog site.

First, I want to thank Creator for the sweetness of this day, for giving us the health, energy, strength, and good fortune to come together in this way.

We will use this blog site as our gathering place, our sacred mwaneaba (mah-nay-aba), where we can meet, as has been done for countless generations, under the protective shell of Mother Turtle, with our open hearts and relaxed minds, to share conversation and kukurei—the sacred flow of happiness.

Next, I want to thank the Elders and Ancestors who join us in this undertaking, who hold in strength the sacred container so we might all rise together. It is said that when you enter the mwaneaba, you step into the Sacred Canoe of the Ancestors, to journey for a time, together as one. When the Elders step in, it is like hoisting a great sail. We can sail very fast and far, with no problem. This is a great blessing.

Lastly, I thank you, the reader, for taking time out of your busy day to join us here. Your presence is very much appreciated, and an important part of our journey.

There will be time for many stories, but for now, we will simply honor this auspicious beginning with a tekeraoi (tay-kay-roy)—the good luck blessing of the Ancestors. To do this, I will need your help.

So when you see the signal below—na, ko, ue—you will need to clap your hands three times, then raise them up, as if reaching for the sky, shouting, TEKERAOI!

Okay…are you ready? Here we go!

Na, ko, ue….clap, clap, clap….TEKERAOI (TAY-KAY-ROY)!!

Ah, the good luck blessings are now upon us! May we be at peace and at one.
