Card Teachings

Here are some excerpts from the upcoming companion book to the Pacific Wisdom deck, Pacific Wisdom Cards: The Awakening of Being, to illumine some of the teachings associated with the cards posted in the previous blog, and to create a platform from which your intuition can spring forth. I will cover the other cards in the days to come, but want to allow time in between for absorbing what follows in the wake of these written words. The Elders teach us that wisdom cannot be taught, only absorbed in the stillness of pure being. Be like the baby, relaxed, open, and mind-free, and much will be revealed!

The Fishing Net:  Casting Your Intentions, Perseverance Furthers

Every day the fisherman casts his net into the sea, a deeply intimate act, as the net is an extension of the man himself. The Fishing Net provides the fisherman with daily sustenance and he, in turn, cares for it with his time and energy, cleaning it after every use, repairing the inevitable tears, making it strong and luminous with his sacred songs and prayers. He knows his catch depends upon many things—timing, location, luck, karma—they all play a part. The Fishing Net feeds the people and sustains the soul. When Spirit alignment is strong, the net is full. Harmony and abundance reign and the people are happy. When the sacred balance is not there, the fisherman has to work harder to catch what is needed.

The Fishing Net teaches that you reap what you sew, personally and collectively. Is it good luck or bad? Look at what you are catching in your net and take responsibility for it. If you keep reeling in difficulty and disappointment, look closely at what you are putting out as bait. Everything you think and do sends a signal and creates a wake, attracting certain kinds of energy, people, drama, and circumstance, while keeping others away. Stillness, on the other hand, brings a calm that allows the subtle, rare, and wondrous to arise from the depths. What you catch in your net may indeed tell you more about yourself than it does about what is “out there.”

You may, at some point, realize that you have been fishing in the wrong pond or that your net has snagged on an obstruction, greatly limiting its capacity and reach. Take a step back, inspect every detail, and make the necessary adjustments. You may find that you are just not casting your net far enough to land what you are after. Most of us have a comfort zone and field of vision that determine the range of our experiencing. If you want to create, encounter, experience, or feel something outside your habitual scope, you must learn to cast your net far beyond the known, beyond the seen, beyond the ego, beyond the mind! Use prayer and meditation to cast your sacred intention into the realm of the illumined Elders, Masters and Wisdom Keepers. Be patient and ever so diligent and what you seek will gradually manifest.

The Fishing Net can signal the need for life review. A consistently empty net raises questions about your path, your purpose, and your direction. Introspecting, while casting your net again and again, stirs the waters of your unconscious. Memories, feelings, and truth make their way to the surface, allowing new awareness to be born. Devotion and perseverance ignite the fire of self-realization that can burn through old karma if you can withstand the heat. By not reacting to the material, the process goes deeper, flushing out the old and bringing in the new.

The Fishing Net is a practice of patience that teaches us to be grateful for our successes, humbly endure our losses, while taking care not to over-identify with either. Things are not always as they seem. Certain treasures can only be found through silent, full emptiness. Continue to cast your net each day with hope and optimism, building strength and resilience in this way. Humbly accept the balance. This is the path to prosperity, good fortune, and enduring happiness.

Teeitei (pronounced Tay-tay):  Pristine Silence, Clarity, Mind-free Awareness

Teeitei is a Sky Being that holds significant keys to your awakening consciousness. Like its cousin, Eagle, Teeitei rises until it is but a speck in the sky, but still it sees clearly Turtle below. The further it rises, the clearer its vision. Teeitei soars with unflinching steadiness, embodying the power and intensity of mind-free awareness. Smaller birds, threatened by its presence, swoop close, squawking and flapping, but they have no effect Teeitei remains on track—calm, focused, and even. This is the way of the Ancients, of moving in purity, with a clear mind and silent strength—unperturbed—with an unwavering awareness that cannot be broken.

It is easy, in our modern, busy, land lives, to acquire tunnel vision. Conditioned from a very young age, we learn to filter our experiencing in order to succeed within the expectations of family and culture. In so doing, we adopt the status quo. Most never question it. Having adapted to living within certain parameters, we forget that there exists anything beyond our daily reality. We become uncertain, even suspicious, in the face of the unfamiliar. Fear locks us in.

Teeitei exists on the other side of that boundary. It is the part of you that is limitless and free and must rise, in spite of everything you have been taught or shown. Once awakened, this part does not bend to logic or persuasion. It answers to a different call and moves to a different rhythm. It is the song of freedom that dwells within the hearts of all beings, and it must be realized to fulfill your true potential.

When Teeitei appears before you, it is an indication that it is time to soar! Thoughts, beliefs, anxiousness, fear, and attachment can weigh you down. Take time everyday to gently, yet persistently, set these aside, if only for awhile. Reassure yourself that you can pick them up later—no worry for that! Give yourself the gift of silent spaciousness to align with Teeitei and merge with Spirit as it reveals to you in your most intimate of hearts. Let go to the rising. Be mind-free. Become the Teeitei, flying free! It is what is needed for healing and balance.

Teeitei brings the blessing of the Ancestors: te mauri, te raoi ao te tabomoa—peace, luck and God’s grace.  Take in this great beauty and follow where it leads.

Whale’s Breath: Navigating the Depths, Evolving Yourself

This teaching came through a very real whale that appeared to Tom and me one day while we were sailing between two island groups in the middle of the vast Pacific. The whale escorted us for the duration of our ocean voyage, and then did what is extremely rare—it followed us through the narrow pass of a tiny atoll, taking up residence alongside our boat at anchor. We then had the opportunity to spend focused and relaxed time over many days with this great guardian of the depths, our consciousness merged as one.

Moving with Whale, you readily become aware of the significance of breathing. We all know that breath is life, yet for the most part, we pay it little attention. It simply happens, steady and continuous, below the level of our conscious awareness. There is, however, a great magic around the breath that the Ancients knew well, and learned from Whale. When you make your breath conscious, it ceases to be ordinary. It becomes sacred and, over time, it develops a power. Clearing the way of obstacles, the sacred breath slowly enables you to experience the depths of pure being that would otherwise remain outside your conscious awareness.

Observe how Whale surfaces, breathes, then dives deep. This is, in essence, Whale’s Breath. Inhale deeply, hold for a few seconds, then exhale slowly until you have expelled all the air, then hold a few moments longer. Begin again by inhaling deeply, punctuating it with silent holding, then exhaling and holding in awareness. Breathe Whale’s Breath three times then relax and let-go, both in body and mind. Follow this way in your meditations and it will become an invaluable guide. With practice, your thoughts will slowly fade into the background, allowing you to go deeper into being. Whenever thoughts intrude, simply resume Whale’s Breath until you can hold again in awareness and let go to the sacred depths.

This may feel a bit awkward at first, but I encourage you to persevere. Whale’s Breath is both a window to the Beyond and a means for navigating it. It is a gift from Creator for your awakening—for purifying the mind, for cultivating balance, and for moving unhindered with Guidance. Breathing the sacred breath during meditation and throughout the day helps you cultivate inner stillness and helps you move in awareness, allowing you, in time, to pause long enough to make more conscious choices, enabling old, self-limiting patterns to fall away. The ramifications are far-reaching.

Make the breath conscious and it becomes sacred. Breathe the sacred breath and it will set you free!

Mauri-o!

As many of you know, Tom and I will be returning to Micronesia in early December. I have been working very hard to finish the Pacific Wisdom Guidance Cards so we can present some completed decks to the Elders and our aomata (people) in the islands. The cards have gone through an amazing evolutionary process over the past few months. Each card is now framed in a beautiful mat design drawn from one of the sitting mats the Elders made for us. The card images themselves have changed in many subtle and not so subtle ways, as the bridge to the essence of the teachings has become more established and well-worn. I am happy to say that they are finally ready to be born!

To clarify, I am referring to the deck of guidance cards, not the card and companion book set, which has not yet been published. The deck includes 49 cards, each card containing stunning photographic images and Elder-inspired key words and phrases that will help awaken your awareness and inner knowing. They are priceless meditation tools, as they offer a rare alignment with very real Wisdom Keepers. You can literally look into their eyes, relax into their essence, and slowly absorb the wisdom they hold. The cards are so much more than what you see! Each one is a window to the very energies that are needed to evolve ourselves at this time. Included in this special preview edition is an Information Card that provides a brief overview of the Pacific Wisdom Deck and how to use it. I am confident that many will benefit from exploring the cards on their own, while waiting for the option of purchasing the upcoming companion book.

The good news is that the card files were submitted to the printer this morning and the decks will be ready in approximately two weeks!

So, I am casting my net wide in this blog to see how many decks I need to print. They are priced at $30 each, and I am inviting folks to consider sponsoring an Elder by paying for an additional deck that we will take to Micronesia and present on behalf of you, our aomata here in the States. This creates a link between you and the Elders in the subtle dimensions that, when nurtured over time with meditation and prayer, will help you source the momentum you need to further you on your spiritual journey. The giveaway is a significant part of establishing an open channel with the Elders. Caring for them with a pure heart keeps the window open wide. The manifestation of these teachings in the form of guidance cards is the fulfillment of a vision that came to them from Spirit. This will generate a huge excitement and big power!

Please let me know if you would like to participate in this great happening by purchasing one or more decks, and please spread the word to any friends who might benefit from this sacred alignment. You can fill out the form on the contact page or email me directly at julie@pacificwisdomrising.com

Thank you all for your on-going support with this project. It has been a beautiful unfolding. We are all sailing on the sacred canoe together. All is very right!

In love and blessedness,
Julie

Here is a selection of the Pacific Wisdom Cards. Those with the black border are the Wisdom Cards. Here, Spirit reveals through the purity and power of the Creature Beings. The Elders pictured on these cards have realized the same essence and wisdom. The cards bordered in red are the Elder Cards. Aligning with these Wisdom Keepers and maintaining the connection overtime with your heartfelt devotion is life-changing. When you draw an Elder card, ask yourself, “am I worthy?” Worthiness is needed for these windows to open. The cards with the green border are the Guidance Cards. Gifted by the Elders, these lessons contain priceless keys to unlock your inner knowing, and help you maintain momentum while navigating the sacred path.  I will speak to each of the cards in the upcoming days.
