Workshop Details:
As you know, Tom and I have spent the past 13 years sailing in the Central Pacific, much of that time in Micronesia, where they were adopted by spiritual Elders of a remote village, and slowly, over many years, initiated into the sacred ways of their ancient wisdom tradition. Theirs is a culture of awareness, with the highest values being humility, respect, devotion, unity, strength, and happiness, which must be in place for the passing of wisdom to occur. Wisdom is different than knowledge. It is sacred, timeless, and it comes from Spirit. The wisdom of the Elders has been maintained in a continuum, unbroken, for thousands of years. Its transformative power is very real, in fact, it is life-changing.
Most of our learning from the Elders has taken place under the mwaneaba, the sacred gathering place of the people, where we spend most of our time when we are in the village. During our workshop, the classroom at the college will be our mwaneaba. As in the village, we will take off our shoes and wrap a lavalava (sarong) around our hips upon entering—a small way of showing respect to the Ancestors. If you have a sarong, please bring it, but we will have extras on hand for those who don’t. As we will be sitting on the floor, on special mats woven by the Elders for this purpose, please wear casual, loose-fitting clothes. Bring a cushion to sit on, if you like. We will have chairs available for those who are unable to sit on the floor.
Tom and I will lead the gathering in the traditional way, which will include sacred songs and dances, and some silly ones, as we rise together in the flow of kukurei-happiness. It is said that when we come together under the mwaneaba, we step into the Spirit Canoe to journey for a time with the Ancestors–an adventure that is both healing and revealing. Everyone will receive a teaching from the Elders using the Pacific Wisdom Rising Guidance Cards that were gifted to us from the Old Ones. The Elders say a great alignment is occurring through the unseen dimensions in support of this event. It is a moment! We hope you will join us.
If you haven’t seen the WOW brochure, the workshop description is as follows:
“The Micronesian Elders long ago dreamed this time of gathering darkness that would cause the ocean waters to rise and engulf their beloved island home. From their dwindling shores, however, the essence of their ancient wisdom way would rise like a beautiful rainbow, to light the way of unity, peace, and happiness for future generations. Pacific Wisdom Rising: A Sacred Canoe Journey is part of this Rainbow Bridge. Step into the Sacred Canoe and journey for a time with the ancient wisdom of the Elders of the Central Pacific Islands. Inner stillness, mind-free awareness, alignment with Spirit, unity, strength, and the capacity to hold are needed to maintain balance and move with the subtle flow. The focus will be dispelling anxiousness and rising into happiness.
Julie Vance returns from a 13-year journey in the pristine islets of Micronesia to fulfill this vision of a Rainbow Bridge. She and her husband were adopted by the Spiritual Elders of a remote island village and brought into the fold of their ancient wisdom tradition. Licensed counselor, engaging writer, sailor, adventurer, and spiritual guide, she has over twenty years experience awakening awareness, healing, transformation, and change in her clients.”
The momentum is building. The window is open wide! Come rise, refresh, and renew in the sacred flow that is always fresh and clear! It will be a big kukurei (happiness). As the village people say, “you will feel something!”
